'06 night train.

I was putting my base sticker on the bike and noticed i was getting greese all over my hands. I looked and there was greese oozing out here, I'm not sure if this is normal or not b/c this is my first harley. The pic was blurred but you get the idea.

You can see a big drop of greese right below the key hole.

Thanks,
Matt

I would run by the dealer and show them. If you can not feel any play in the tree (yankhandle bars up and down), the factory most likely over stuffed the bearings with grease. If that's it, feel good, its a lot better than not enough grease.

It's normal. Factory service procedure is to pump grease in until you see it ooze out of the top & bottom seals. Just keep it cleaned off, until you fill it again at the 5K service.

From what I understand it's just from the bike being new and sitting. Once the seals seat you should not have any further problems. If it contiues I would take it back to the dealer.

Yup, it's normal for a new bike. Mine was so bad at first that it was blowing back on the engine etc. I tied a little rag around it till it stopped.

Yup, I asked the same question with my new Fatboy and got the same answer. I just wiped it clean and kept riding.

I seem to be having the same problem. I am at about 1700 miles on my fatboy and it is still oozing. I have even found a few spots on the floor after my bike sits for a few weeks (I travel a lot for work and its only a small droplet), the dealer says it is due to the temperature where I live. It's been getting close to 100 degrees some days. Anyway, I have found grease on my engine due to blow back, however the grease on the engine has been reduced significantly so I guess that's good.
