I agree with most of the posts here, 13K for a FXCW is about right. Most Rocker C's are bringing 3 - 4K more. Like Chaz I have done my mods carefully and sold all my take off parts on E-bay. I have about 23K total ( including 19,800 for the bike ) invested in my 08 Rocker C. Mods include V&H pipes, 103in Stage 2 kit, Wild 1 Apes with completly chromed out controls and all braided lines, chrome grips, pegs and many small pieces. Bullet headlamp, re-located blinkers, chromed stock wheels/pulley/calipers, matching rotors, chrome wheel spacers and all mounting hardware, FXCW seat, skull tank insert, every bolt is chrome. I'm sure theres more. Point is - plan and shop, sell everything you're not using and you'll save a fortune.
New Harley? Isnt even a thought for me....I dont like having that much money tied up in the thing.
Every single piece and part I buy for my bike is researched, negotiated, haggled, swapped, worked etc..etc.. Every single part I replace gets sold here on HDF or my own craigslist.
I might see one I like more or just get tired of mine. I have less spent on my total bike cost, mods, stage 3 motor everything combined than some of the Yahoo's on Craigslist are saying they spent on chrome doo-daddery?
....

That guy with the magical 33 grand invested in an 18,000 road kind has spent 1r grand on chrome gadgetry and set of pipes and a stage 1 upgrade? Thats more on the mods alone than my entire bike and all my upgrades?
Say it aint so Joe!!!
Are folks handing money to the dealers to bolt on shiny doo-dads at $100 an hour?
Not sure what what kinda build u lookin to do to, but the days of building a bike a gettin $$ out of it are long gone. Insurance companies wont insure it, banks wont give you funds to build it.. before i bought my RockerC i was going to buy a SC rigid and was even preapproved, but once i made the deal with a guy at a smokin deal, my credit unioun backed out, with excuse's of fraud, a lot of hemin and hawin, so i said **** it, you wont let buy this bike at this great deal you need to increase my loan amount so i can go get a harley.., now once you have a Harley, you have a serial ##(golden) modify it how want it, you will never get get all $$ back but... at least it will be a sellable, insurable bike.. and you can add to your insurance the upgrades.

I do the same exact thing. People wonder how I get good deals, I tell them...patience...searching..researching..patience ...and then hold for a great deal and you will usually get what you want if you dont rush it too much.
HDF has been the best resource..hands down. I recommend this site to all Harley owners that I know, and voice that to everyone. Peoples experience and blunt advice and expertise is what makes this a daily stop for me on the net.
I am going to be putting my 2008 Rocker up for sale so I can build a bike, what do you think about the price for the bike. I am thinking about asking 16,000 for the bike with 4000 miles and stage 1 upgrade with the power commander 5. i did keep all original part. does this seem like a good deal?
I bought my Rocker C off the floor, 0 miles for $17,500, retail was $19,900 in August of 2008, when the 2009's were coming out. The 2010's are coming out and you are trying to sell a Rocker with 4,000 miles on it for $16,000, it seems a bit high to me.
