Go to youtube and search "motorcycle paintless dent repair". It's amazing what they can do. You can have someone ship your tank to one of these places and it will be ready for you when you come home. Here's a link to a harley tank repair: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Vzw7svXz_Q. This repair cost $260
There are take off tins (and custom paint set tins) on ebay every day and any softail tank for 07 and up should fit.
THATS A GREAT WAY TO GO. a lot of peeps upgrade to paint sets and there are take offs on ebay. also, if the damage isnt that bad, you should get an estimate from a repair shop. if it is repaired well no one would ever know the difference. good luck
When I bought my Springer Classic it had the 2 tone paint on the tank. I wanted all black so I went on Ebay and found a black one, stock paint off of a heritage for less than $100.00.
Just be patient and you will find one. In the meantime you can sleep easy knowing that you've gotten the "1st Dent" out of the way.
I had my 09 FXSTC for three damn days, and I dumped it trying to load it on the back of my pickup with a single ramp after it rained...she said it was a bad idea!
I put a sizable dent in the left side of my tank. The bike is vidid black, and I'm wondering if anyone sells a stock tank w/ paint. I've looked for a while now and all I can find are bare or primered tanks....any suggestions??
Thanks in advance for any input!!

New Bike Needs loaded in back of truck...Just wondering why would U have to put a new bike in the back of a truck.??
One truck, One ramp, (WET) One 700# bike. Did U at least get help or did U try it by Ur self?
IMHO, She said it was a bad Idea.. U better keep her around. sounds pretty wise.

Not on a dent that's that deep. Motorcycle metal is A LOT thicker than car panel metal. Therefore not near as much metal moves with the tip of the 'Spoon' as it does with cars. The dent in the vid is a very 'soft' dent. Not deep, and spread out over what looks to be a perfect area. Clearly it was chosen on purpose for the vid/demonstration.
Op top of that, the only place to get leverage on a tank is the filler neck. It'd get bent to ****..
The repair option would include some filler for sure...
