I did something really stupid...need info!!
I had my 09 FXSTC for three damn days, and I dumped it trying to load it on the back of my pickup with a single ramp after it rained...she said it was a bad idea!
I put a sizable dent in the left side of my tank. The bike is vidid black, and I'm wondering if anyone sells a stock tank w/ paint. I've looked for a while now and all I can find are bare or primered tanks....any suggestions??

Yea, I looked...
at that, and they're running over eight hondo! W/O paint! I've found some OEM tanks for a little over 400...I guess I'm trying to take the lazy way out and not have to mess with paint shops. I'm just trying to get it right for when I come home from iraq again in dec/jan!

Unfortunately I don't have pics with me, but the dent is right on the H-D logo and it's about and inch deep...three inches top to bottom and about the same left to right.
I always thought once a tank was dented it was scrap, but I'd be willing to try pulling it out!
Quick question...aren't fatboy and STC tanks the same or can be swapped between bikes?

Get a new tank put on and be done with it. Just chalk it up to an expensive lesson.
Any chance it would be covered under your insurance. If you could get away with a $500 deductible w/o a rate increase it'd be a good deal.
