I went with the Big Sucker II and the plain round chrome cover. It looks a bit retro and really sucks the air. More than my 88 needs, but when I go to 95 cubes, I'll be ready.

Had my SE K&N (which is washable) filter go bad at 15k (rubber seal), it was installed june 07, with the stg1 package..

Whats confusing is its made by K&N but not the same as the K&N lifetime washable one.

The lifetime one is bout $18 more than the SE's. Dealer just charged me the difference for the upgrade as they warrantied the org bad SE one..

Thanks for the all the tips. I did the leg work last night on the Ness kit and it is offered in both chrome backing plate and non-chrome backing plate. The chrome backing plate (my preference) is about $10 more than the SE kit. Pretty negligable price in my opinion. Think I'll end up going with that kit.

At the same time I'm planning on adding a PCIII from FuelMoto. If the PCIII has the correct map from FuelMoto, will I still need the dealer to remap my ECM? My guess is no, but just want to double-tap to ensure that is correct.

Thanks again!!

you may or may not need a dyno tune. my bike would not run well on the canned maps and dyno tune was needed. i went with thundermax when i did the next big change
