Default 05 deuce problems

need a little bit of help/info if anyone has any ideas, 05 deuce, carburated, 88 tc, vance and hines long shots, stock air filter, ( going to upgrade to a SE heavy breather shortly), sputters and misses when in 1 2 3 gears at low speeds, also misses at idle slightly, drilled plug for idle screw, adjusted 23/4 turns out cause plugs were somewhat lean looking and was poping on decel, no more poping , the guy that had it had SE II slip ons on it and had evidently jetted it when i took the carb apart it had # 45 slow jet and 190 primary jet , one small washer (1/32) under the needle, runs strong high end and pulls hard low end , i run 93 octane ,wondered if andone has ANY ideas on the missing and sputtering ( not through the carb) THANKS

05's had a problem with valve seals which allowed oil to foul plugs. Might be something to check into. I think Harley did a recall to fix.
