see you here when you get back. they have started a new thing in Austin. they are ticketing aggressive drivers. so when that cage tail gates you they get the ticket. I had the loud pipes and yes they notice, but i saw them first before they changed lanes on me and some looked at me and still changed lanes. I dont think loud will help that much so go with what you like and maybe get a air horn or a large grade 8 bolt to get their attention.
Well, good to hear. I actually haven't done much riding in Central Texas yet. I just returned to FT Hood the last week of November and deployed to iraq the first week of January. Had my buddy hau my bike down from KY to TX in the back of his truck and had just enough time to get the family settled in before i said goodbye. My wife has been doing alot of dealing with the HD dealer in Roundrock. She bought herself a 09 Sportster 1200L there in July. Seems that have a great rep. Good to hear about the laws, anything that keeps us safer, i'm all about.
Must say.....Thanks for ther Pic. Nothing like being able to see what the finished product should look like. Did you do the install yourself or pay someone?
Yes, I did the install myself. It is a simple install with basc tools. The headpipes and muffler is one assembly, however it will help to have someone help balance the muffler while you bolt up the headpipes.
I am only 40 miles from fort hood so if you need help installing anything let me know.
Also a chapter member of the CTH round rock. I used cardboard boxes covered in towel as support install the exhaust. also rubber gloves help keep you skin oil off the pipes and give you a good grip too
also the thundermax you wont need to have dyno tune to get perfect as it tunes as you drive and changes for altitude and load and fuel. cost a little more but well worth it and it replaces the harley ecm so no mounting issue
