Ive been waiting to put my Heartland kit on to see where im gonna sit on the bike first. Im 6'1'' with a 32-33 inseam. Ive been looking at several different controls that are offered in +2 and +3 sizes. How much of a difference could 1" make ?
Lemme tell ya this...I have 3" extensions on my Train and its so comfy with my 32-33" inseam that I cant even buy a Street Glide now cuz' I feel to cramped and the Glides all feel small!! Like riding lawnmower feel...Or sitting on the Toilet
maybe?
Thats serious talk Bro.
Without the extensions I feel like I'm sitting on a toilet...I dont like sitting on toilets. I like 100HP BarcoLoungers!!
3" extension on Softail = Badass Barcolounger!!
I agree 100%. Every now and then I'll take out my old man's ultra classic and I feel so damn cramped!
What's the DIY install time for a guy of average non-mechanic mechanical knowledge (does that make sense)?
Probably 1-2 hrs. at a casual pace. I cleaned, lock-tite'd. and tinkered with each step though. You'll need someone to help bleed the brakes as the Ness kit comes with a longer line. The sidestand spring isn't bad as long as you have a vise and channel locks. I'm 6'2 and it totally changed the bikes comfort for the better. Sidestand feels like it has a different swing due to being mounted 3" forward. Good luck. I think your gonna like it!
