25K on my '07 Train, and absolutely no problems...best bike I've ever had, and it suits me like it was custom made just for me...I've said from the get go, that this bike was gonna be my keeper, even if I get another bike down the road...

Stage 1. 19,000 miles. No problems, none, zero. Keep the service current. No 5th gear rattle. No paint or rust issues. Perfect bike.

When you gear down, the engine is holding back the load and then you are about ready to downshift again--the engine sounds like a rod is knocking. When I first heard it, I took it to three different dealers and they all gave me this "ride it until it blows" crap. I was afraid it might come apart between my feet. I was ready to trade it off and it only had 3K miles on it.

One dealer did have a fairly good explanation for the sound though. They said that the counterbalancers are no longer incased in a metal tube and they are out in the open. This allows the sound to radiate more. I don't know if its true or not. Anyway, I have 9K on it now and have ridden the crap out of it. It doesn't make any noise except when you are gearing down. I guess I just have to live with the noise. Has anyone else had this noise???

I've got 25K on my Train, and I have NEVER heard anything like what you're describing...I know a bunch of guys running bikes with the same balanced engine, and I've never heard any of them mention it either...
