I put on a set of blue ACCEL custom fit 8mm wires, around $26.00 at J&P. Great looking and fitting wires. Didn't notice anything in the way of a performance change but then, wasn't expecting much (swap was mainly for looks).
On the topic -- best sub-$20 mod for me so far was the home-made 1 1/2" tank lift. About $4.00 in hardware from Home Depot
My best mod for under $20 was the turn signal relocation from the handle bars to the fork. $7 in parts and about an hour of your time.
(I know, my sig photo doesn't show this mod).
you could not tell if you got a SE because it has the better wires already. i heard from others who changed only the wires and it made a feel-able difference.
MAN- you peeked my interest. i had a 103 S.E. engine build done and they didn't put those wires on. i wonder if i will have any difference. i just walked over to the parts counter and we don't have them in stock, as a matter of fact, that part number is an obsolete number and has been updated. i'm trying to find them at one of our other stores.
ok we have a set of the multi fits in black...will ride them home tonight and back to work tomorrow...wont be able to figure MPG's since im only 6 miles from home, but i will be able to see throttle response. in FLA warm up is never a prob...i'll post tomorrow
