Default Rear Brake Pedal Adjustment

Does anyone experience problems with the position of the rear brake pedal?

I find that I have difficulty applying enough force to the rear brake because my foot has to go very flat to apply the brake. With boots limiting ankle movement, I find this an issue. I checked the manual and it says the position of the lever cannot be adjusted.

I am thinking about maybe trying a spacer of some sort to lift the pad on the brake pedal. Can you get some kind of cranked brake pedal that will effectively raise the pedal position?

Anyone have similar issues or know of any work arounds? - Bike is a 2005 Softail Standard

Cool

as far as I know, stock pedals cannot be adjusted, I had to accomodate to the high brake pedal of my fatboy, but I got used to it.
There are some aftermarket parts that can help with that or u'd have to build one of ur own

Maybe something like this could be adapted for use on your Standard?

That certainly looks like it should do the trick. Just need to figure out why it is for floorboard models only.

I have the same bike as you and don't have the problem. Will the brake pedal pump up? If so, then you may have air in the system and it needs bleeding.

It's so easy to lock the rear brake on my bike that I really don't use it very often at all. Sport bike habits die hard.

Apologies for the thread necrophilia - I searched the forum but didn't find a working solution.

I find that I need to bend my foot back to an awkward angle to hold it just above the pedal, which is how I ride when in traffic, but on the highway I shift my foot outwards to avoid the fatigue.

I see the mention of aftermarket parts that could help, but just cant find these online - could someone please post info and links to these.
