I've cut a lot of windshields. #1 use a lot of masking tape. Cover more than the area you will be working in. #2. Draw your line and double check it. #3. Cut with hand held jig saw to within about 1/8 inch of your line. #4. Work it the rest of the way down with a sander. You'll get good results this way. Make sure the blade in the saw is fine enough to not cause cracks but good enough not to just melt the lexan.

I think the light-bar mounts to the forks first, and the the windshield mounts outside of that. I think you'll have to have a whole new windshield frame as well as lexan.

It is a complete new frame assembly as well. It is wider with the lights. A Heritage winshield is what you will need.

I have used a die grinder with a cutting wheel. It melts its way right through!

I used a Roto-Zip to cut mine down, just tape her off and it will go through like cutting butter....

The guy I bought my '02 FXST from included a lexan windscreen which he had cut down a couple inches so he could see over the top of it. Looks okay and works, but I've noticed under the right light I can see faint discoloration (delamination?) a couple inches or so down from where the cut was made. Maybe the way he had it cut. I'll probably replace it with a non-cut windscreen at some point.
