Ive just taken my FXST in for its MOT ( annual test ) and been told the front tyre needs to be replace.
I managed to get 3000 miles out of it. Im looking for a wider tyre for the 21" profile rim, ( wider the better ) the tyre needs to be sticky as Im not too worried about how long it lasts.
Ive seen people mention Metzelers and Avon Venoms. Any pics or ideas would be great
3000 miles for me is about average. I tend to ride quite quick after owning 60+ sports bikes in the last 25 years, plus the fact we have numerous roundabouts in the UK that wear the right side of the tyre. On some sports bike I could wear a rear tyre out in just over 1000 miles!
3000 miles on a frt tire and it is already worn out??? Wow, I got around 12,000 on my front tire before it had to be changed when I had my FXST. I have been running Avons on my Heritage for the past 3 years and love em, but they are starting to get too pricey for my budget. I have used Dunlop Elite 3's on the front of my Heritage and was pleased with them.
Just curious, how much air pressure are you running in the front tire and how often do you check it?
