Looking at a used fatboy on Ebay - anyone have an opinion on what this bike is worth? Looks to be in great shape with alot of custom and chrome add ons.
Here is the NADA price guide http://www.nadaguides.com/default.as...H&gc=MC>c=MC it would help if you live anywhere near him so that you could check the bike out. But...since none of us are that lucky I would ask to get a sound clip and maybe a video but that still has it draw backs....personally I will always feel nervous buying a bike online like this.
To me...if I saw the bike and all the goodies I'd say bout 8-9K....probably not what he wants but that is what I would offer. Maybe I'm a bastard....who knows...
"custom" is only custom in the eyes of the owner, NOT the perspective buyer(s). I see some butt ugly "custom" bikes for sale and seems to be the mentallity that once a seller can boast "custom" that adds 30% of additional value to a bike. Rarely the true case.
I have a $3K in chrome and accessories as well, but that doesnt add $3K in value to the bike, it in fact hurts the resale. Most all people want the enjoyment of customizing a bike themselves. When and if I decide to sell, my bike is going back to BONE stock, get whatever I can get for it, and pimp all the accesorries on EBay or the HD classsifieds...
