I did the same thing on my old Sportster a couple years ago, try to apply the same idea on my Fatboy. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/sport...ation-mod.html
I was doing internal wires and hearted grips this morning, might as well doing my turn signal relocation at the same time. All I need is 5/16-24 bolt x2, car caliper pin rubber boots x2, 5/16-24 nuts x4 and labor, took me 1/2 hour and it turned out to be nice. The good thing is turn signals sit very close to the triple tree covers, nice and clean now.
Looks great. Going to go that route when I swap out my handlebars, although I've already bought the 5/16-24 allthread versus the bolts. I know you had to cut the bolts off and only used the threaded portion; how long do you you figgure the threaded portion was after cutting? Oh, and do you remember the part number for those turn signal trim rings you have on yours?
Sweet and affordable mod! Before having passing lamps and when the turn signals were relocated on the forks, I used round chrome 1/2" spacers from Ace Hardware rather than the rubber. The rubber looks good too!
