Hey I miss the old kickstart shovel's. They were a good barometer of how drunk you were when leaving a tavern. If ya couldn't get your bike started you were too drunk to ride. Now with the flick of the thumb and yer down the road.
If you mean do I like the look of a kicker ? then yes.
If you mean do I want to kick start my bike every time ? Then no.
if you mean would I like to be able to kick start if I had to ? Then yes.
I am putting a kicker on my softy and it's fuel injection and i was told i will work..I have a buddy that put one on his and it work and just one kick it starts....I also looks cool with the pan syle rocker box's and the geneator cam cover
If your buddy added a kickstart to his bike, he is no longer fuel injected. He would also have had to changed his ignition. Complicated swap just to add the coolness of a kicker
Nothing like the ole kickers.. specially with advance on the bars...
I still have the 2''scar on the inside of my right ankle, helping a co-worker try to fire his back in the early 70's, Yea, I really miss that, like a 4 inch pimple on my A$$.
Ha, ha, I FEEL your pain!! Had a 650 Triumph a long time ago, went to start it one day, tore the right arch out of my boot, and almost put me over the bars, AND, bruised the crap out of my instep. Oh, boy, do i miss that, NOT
Rode my Shovel today and since it's kick only, well, it's got to be kick started. Gave it 2 shots of gas, pumped the kicker through 2 times, switched it "on" and kicked her to life with one swift kick. More effort than pushing a button but also more rewarding.
