Spike Intake Options ebay?
Just have to decide if I want chrome or black now. Decisions, decisions.....BTW, the coupon code 'oct30' applies to lots of items on the site too. A K&N SE Air Filter listed for $69, and when I put in the code, it dropped to $48.30.

So the intake arrives yesterday MINUS intallation instructions. I contacted customer service and they emailed me the pdf with the instructions within minutes.
However, once I got the instructions and parts list, I find D2Moto has FAILED to include the collar needed to attach the intake elbow to the plate on the throttle body! I'm pretty frustrated by now since I had the old intake in pieces on the garage floor and now have to put it back together without my new toy attached
So I called customer service back and they say they will UPS me the missing piece. Should have it in 5 days or so. Sheeeeesh.....

I might just call them if I end up ordering, as it sounds like they don't have secure payment
Here is what I like and dislike about it. The performance change was quite nice. It seems like you get more torque due to the increase in air flow. Also, it really looks great on the bike. The filter is usually made by K&N too.
What I dislike has to do with those piston thingies that let out the vapour. They splash oil residue all over your oil tank and allow for the vapours to exhaust right by your leg, making sitting in traffic even more annoying. Lastly, driving in the rain causes your bike to sputter due to water getting inside. Possibly there is a cover for this.
Will I ever deal with these guys again? Doubt it! The price for the intake seems GREAT, and that's what drew me to buy. But the headaches I've gotten from having my CC compromised, and D2Moto's sucky customer service have turned me completely off to them.
(Having read Spartaman's review of the product, I guess I'll need to have plenty of wipes on hand should I ever get the part and get it installed.)

Once you have the instructions and ALL the parts, it was pretty simple and took maybe 40 minutes to swap out the assemblies. The G/F thinks it looks like I should be riding the Fat Boy to a medieval festival, but I like the look. The red tank pinstripe compliments the red filter IMO. I wasn't expectng any sort of performance boost since I was replacing a K&N setup, but I will take it to Bikers Dream and have it re-tuned and dyno'd to make sure the mix is right.
If you've been thinking about getting this setup, hopefully the photos will help you decide if YOU like the look. For me, the price was a big selling point, but is outweighed by the headaches I got from dealing with D2Moto. A real PITA!
This is what it looks like installed.
