What I've heard: You can heat them up a little with a blow dryer and then use a piece of fishing line (nylon) and work down behind the reflector breaking the double sided tape loose. Then you can use some type of cleaner like Bug and Tar remover or Goof Off to remove the sticky stuff that remains. I would test the solvent on an inconspicious place to make sure it does not damage the lower leg finish.

I used a heat gun and just peeled em off, clean up with some Coleman stove fuel and waxed.

Took them off the chrome springer front end with dental floss and degreaser. (WD-40 will also work)

Like others have said,

use fishing line tight against forks. Double sided tape holds them on and the more you get off with the fishing line the easier it is too remove the glue.

I used wd-40. Goo gone im sure works great.
