I don't know what a pricepoint would be for that bike, but it's a sweet ride.

First year FLSTF's fatboys (also known as the Gray Ghost) have always held a high price on the used market, very desirable bike if STOCK. If someone has monkeyed with it, it's not worth looking at. That said, if it is stock, you should leave it stock (for the most part). You have ask yourself, do you want a bike that you shouldn't customize? Once you answer those questions and want to move on the bike, this market has crushed used HD prices, 1990 Fatboys included. I am no expert, but 18 months ago a 1990 FLSTF with low miles in STOCK original condition would have been listed anywhere from 13K upwards (I always look at 1990 Fatboys, almost bought one new). Today, without seeing the bike, I would be thinking it would start sub 10k. depending on whether it is STOCK.

I don`t think they vary that much in price from any other Softail.Unaltered is a collector piece, yet not one someone will break their bank on.I was drawn to one once that was tastefully customized. It was mostly polishing, chrome, and detailing that was altered, without changing the theme.I just don`t see them standing out in price much at all.

would this be your only bike? I would only want this bike as a second bike where you can keep it stock. For 8000 to 10000 you can get a nice twin cam fatboy something you can really ride. Its a cool bike but to me its nothing that great. So would this be ur only bike?

this will be my 3rd bike. i also have a '66 bonnie street tracker and a '86 nighthawk 700sc. the bike is stock with 6600 mi. it looks very nice and runs out fine. he's asking $9000 for it. i've been looking for an evo fatboy because i like the early models styling wise.
any reason to get a twincam model rather then an evo? i know the economy has trashed used harley prices and i could get a newer evo or a twincam for the same money
never had a harley before so my choice of an evo model is based on looks alone. any recommendations about other years instead of an evo wil be appreciated.

I to love the evo softails just like you. But from the good deal I went with the twin cam. Twin cam softails are going to be super smooth where the evo will give off some vibes. There both great bikes but it is a 1990... thats a 19 year old bike for the same price you can buy a mint 2003 to 2005 for the same price of the 1990 with near no miles on it. I think you would kill the resale of that 1990 if you put a ton of miles on it. I would go by this...do you want a nice bike to keep stock and ride hear and there? Or do you want a bike to really ride and take nice trips on with no vibes something smooth and super reliable?

Talking

my first bike was a 86 nighthawk just like yours it was a cool bike till I rode my softail.. lol. keep in mind the stock evo will not have the power of a stock twin cam and will not be near as smooth. But I do love the evos they sound so mean!!! I did look at a few evos my goal was to get one I like them that much it just seems like most evos I looked at were leaking something.
