Default Poor headlight trim ring fit...

So my trim ring on my headlight got really loose and was rattling like hell yesterday. I wrapped the entire headlight with 4 or 5 rounds of electrical tape and reinstalled. Voila! Good as new. So...if your headlight trim ring does not fit give it a whirl. Genius engineering for sure.

On my bike it may have something to do with the mileage as it is getting a higher year by year. Snug as a bug in a rug now.

Is that a stock headlight? No, You don't need 5 rounds of tape man, you must be missing the 2 rubber inserts on the headlight, look at 10 and 2 o'clock positions. It happens to every single one, trust me.

Yup, I am missing the inserts. It was only one missing until it got real loose this time. Anyway, no dealer for me today.

Default Rattling headlight rim

Had the same problem with my heritage. Sounded like the motor was "pinging". I took some of that foam insulation you get at Lowe's or Home Depot and lined the inside of the trim and vola!! no noise.

Another good option instead of "stock parts."
