Springer front axle question
Got no response in the chassis section so I thought I'd ask it here. My bike has the acorn nuts on the pivot studs and I would like to do the same to the front axle. I was going to get and axle, turn down the side with the nut and thread it. I was going to red loctite one end, blue locktite the other, use lock washers, and put acorn nuts on both ends. Anyone done this or seen it done? Any problems you can see? Jim

I trust the factory locknut over blue Loctite and lock washers. Why not just use chrome caps? If you need to match the acorns, there are a lot more exposed buts and bolt heads that don't match on the Springer. The ones that stand out to me are the shock mount allen head bolts with chrome acorn nuts.
