Default Heritage Handlbar Riser Question

Here's a question to you Heritage guys.

I've got a carbureted '04 FLSTC with stock handlebars and pretty much stock everything else, risers included. I just picked it up and I want to change the risers on the handlebars to pull back just a little more. I've got short arms. I'm wondering if I swapped out the stock and replaced with 4-1/2 pullback risers, if I'd have enough slack in the cables so that I didn't have to change the cables. I just wonder if any other guys have done this. I know someone with an 06 Heritage (Not a classic) and they did it without issue but they have shorter fat-boy style handlebars and I'm just checking.

I can grab some risers for about $40 online so its not a big money deal, its just the process of swapping them out just to find out I need cables. If anyone can share any experience, please do.

I'd also be interested in recommendations, I'm wondering if I need 4-1/2" risers or if 2-1/2" pullbacks would do the trick.

Default risers

Hey I have an 08 Heritage and I have put the 4 1/2 pullbacks on it without any issues. I actually got a set off of a deluxe that bolted right on and fit great. If there was to be an issue it would have been the front brake cable, I just removed one of the little hold down clamps and the cable would move fine. There are plenty of cable clamps to still secure it without problems. Really made a totally different ride position.

Do you have any pictures of the bike with the new risers? That would be awesome for me to see exactly where the bars will sit with those risers on.

They will fit with no issues. I put the Chrome Werks Sweepers and had 4" pull back risers and still had no issues. Sorry 2006 Heritage. If you take off both clamps holding the brake lines there is enough cable to rebend and then put the clams back on. With the stock bars you probably could even go to the 6" risers.
