Now are you guys pulling the stock baffles out of your Short Shots and just running these? Or are you running these along with the stock baffles?
I've got a set of the BSS and need a "new sound".... BUT... Can't seem to get the cap screws holding the stock baffles, to come out. I mean these are REALLY in there!! Any suggestions for extraction of these buggers?

squirt them with some pb blaster penetrating oil and let them soak for a while. then give it a go. i think you run them without the stock baffles.
Ive been thinking of those for my short shots on my softail custom. Does it sound better than the short shots with the baffles are out? Did you get pn 2003 for this application?
I did not crank it up when I pulled the baffles out. It sounds 10 X's better then stock baffles that's for sure. I used part number #2001 for the Short Shot Staggered. If you have been thinking of getting them. Then don't think anymore. For $93 shipped to your door you will be floored when you put them in and start it up for the first time. I smiled last night when I started it up. Just as I did when I put them in my Road King. Seriously!!!!! They are that good.

Pull the shields, grind the head off the screw, drill it out, yank the baffles out and slap the shields back on...POOF...nasty loud pipes. If you have never heard really short pipes without baffles in person, may I suggest, once you get the bike back together, take it very gently up to the higher part of fourth gear without getting hard on/off the throttle until that point, when you get there, just roll into it one last time and back off completely, then just sit back and enjoy the music as it coasts down!
what size did you get for the short shots i want a set of these but to lazy to measure.....
Just tell them you need part number 2001 they have an inside diameter of 2". You also get a free T-shirt. I cut the sleeves off of them and wear them at the gym. Now I have two shirts.

Yes you remove the stock baffles. It took me a little longer to do these then it did on my old Big Radius because the Short Shots have one piece heat shields. On the Big Radius you can just remove the bottom half of the heat shield.
I found it easier to remove the pipes from the bike with the Short Shots. Then I took the heat shields off. They recommend to go six inches into the pipe to drill your new hole. I went in 5" because one of my heat shield clamps were located right at the 6" mark. I held the pipes upside down and drilled a 1/4" whole in the bottom of the pipe. Then put the heat shields back on and then put the pipes back on the bike. To me it is easier to put the heat shields on before putting them back on the bike. Those clamps can be a Beeyotch.
Im still working on my bike and have a few stuff before I can ride it.

I finished putting them in about 2:30 this morning. I actually took it around the block in shorts, no shirt, and flip flops, at 2:30 in the morning. Bet the neighbors were happy.
