I think as mentioned above, just accessorize the bike to complement the motor. I minimalist (exile) type look woud be cool. Actually, Exile has a standard on their website that looks sweet. Notice the pipes, head covers, lower fork legs, forward control, etc. are brushed alluminum. Really sets off that motor:

Get a black trim kit. If you like it, you can keep it. If not, sell it.

I like my silver motor for reasons mentioned above, it's NOT like every other HD motor out there. Just as my bike is not black. Not that there's anything wrong with black, but I like mine, it's different, that's why I bought it. And what the heck, I can't see the motor to well when I'm in the saddle anyhow. So screw it, Let's ride.

I have an 2006 Standard with a silver motor and I love it now. Last winter I bought some black Night Train parts off ebay and did some powdercoating, and left the silver motor alone except for the covers which I went wrinkle black. And the silver motor really stands out. I have been thinking of getting some black hot toppers to cover the bolts on the engine

That,s the reason I got the standard. Thought I wanted the Night train but up close I just didn't like the black motor. Just too much IMO. But with a few black parts, I think the gray motor looks cool.

I like the 131 Jims idea....a lot.
