I ran a 17" Metzler 210/50 for awhile, it fit just fine on my '08 FXSTC.

That's the tire I was looking at a 17" Metzler 210/50 how did you like it? How much difference was there running a 210/50 size wise.

The Avon Cobra is a pretty decent tire. I changed to it and it's much better then the stock Dunlop but you won't get the same mileage out of it.

SO, you can shove a 210 under the rear end of our FX's??? I still have a while left on my rear, but it would be sweet to go 210.

I'm going to a 205/50/17 car tire on Train when this tire wears out. It works just fine as a friend who's running one right now can tell you. I might even get a 90k mile tire.

Thumbs up

Yea, been doin it for the last 5 rear tires. The added benefit is the shorter profile on the tire will change your final gear ratio just enough that it is much like changing your front or rear pulleys. Much more enjoyable riding around in traffic in town. I been running 200/50/17 Shinko and average 5500-6000 from my rears. Not very good wear but super sticky.

i found a great new tire from dunlop. it is a 200/50-17. it has hard center tread and soft sides and grips as good if not better than the metzler and was only $144. i just got back from a 1500 mile trip to the pigs trail and in rain and all other conditions it never slid.
