Softail back together with some Modifications
I just got done doing a "winter clean-up post 11,000 mile summer" maintinance job on my 07 Softail Heritage. Here's what I did:
1. Installed two new Dunlops. I have a Harbor Frieght tire changer. It works. When installed the tubes put some baby powder on them. On one of the Michalin (sp) boxes they recommend it. Adds some dry lube I guess.
2. Installed the American Custom exhaust modified mufflers they did for me. I have the mid-range baffles and open or with the baffles they sound mean. The open sound is a low rumble.
3. Installed an Amsoil free flow air cleaner.
4. Installed Nightrider XIED's on both O2 sensors. With these the AF ration will go from 14.7 to one down to 13.8 to one.
5. Detailed the bike, checked brakes, etc.
6. I had posted a few weeks ago that I had to put a new fuel line from the regulator down because the line rubbed against the top of the tank and developed a pin hole resulting in loss of fuel pressure which made the bike stall when low on fuel. While I was having the tires balanced last Sat., I asked the service manager at Worth H-D about this and he said he's had two other bikes do the same thing BUT they were older bikes. So, I guess I'm the exception.
7. There is gong to be some nice weather and I'm anxious to try the bike out but I can tell that there is greater throttle response with the mods.
