Default 2002 Deuce

My friend has a 2002 Deuce and the speedometer quit working. Is this a common problem? I assume maybe the sensor? Are these easy to change if that's the case ? Any input would be great. Thanks

It's on the left side, top rear portion of the tranny. A lot of times simply cleaning off the old sensor fixes the problem, otherwise replace it. The do fail sometimes.
