So I ordered a set of 16 inch apes and cables from these guys on sat. the 13th. and its now the 21st. and the web page says they havent even shipped yet. I've been calling all week at least 5 times a day with no answer or response to my messages. They've already taken the money out of my bank account so WHAT THE F@#$ !!!!??? Anybody else dealing with this or am I the only one?
i would never buy from him again. never. non American products, no communication. had ebay store but wont answer questions, sends wrong product 2 times in a row. i would push my bike and use cables made of fishing line before i used them again.
I talked to Robert Smith about my problem and all he told me to do was adjust the clutch on the derby side. I dont see that solving my problem and i didnt have a clutch problem or out of adjustment before adding the apes.
Baddboyy95, did you resolve the cable issue? As others stated and what I recently experienced one week ago with my 16" ape installation, you likely will need to back out the clutch adjustment on the derby side to provide the required slack to installed the cable within the perch. Interesting enough, no adjustment was required when I installed 13" bars.
Getting ready to pull the trigger on some apes. Called them four times in the past six weeks. Three times some one answered. The one time they did not I left a message. No call beck - I just called them again after a couple days and some one answered. They always answered my questions and even took the time to get got a set of bars and take a measurement for me. Seem like good people...
Hey guys I know this is old but I was googling Hill Country to see if I could find out some more information and this is where I ended up. My question is do they every answer the phone or emails? I have been wanting to order some apes for my bagger for 3 weeks now but would like to discuss something with them first. When I call mulitple times a day I either get a busy tone or a voice mail and the voice mail box says it full.
I would really like to order their bar kit after all of the good things I have heard from people but daaannnnggggg.... Getting kinda frustrated that I can't get any response!
Not sure what is going on but all my dealings with them has been top notch. No problem with them returning calls and the products were as described. For the price I would say ---be patient...if not then bust out the BIG Money for Carlini. HCC kit (16in) made my first time ape install less painful cash and product wise.
For me, it helps to remember that many people in this business are small business owners. While I am not one, I have many friends that are small business owners and I have seen how hectic it can be. It's very difficult to be (literally) in two places at once. I have had to wait as long as 4-6 weeks on stuff for my bike and some guns. Hang in there, give them a chance guys. I think it's worth it in the long run. I would much rather deal with with someone who will remember me rather than a large company with an impenetrable wall around them.
