Thanks everyone, for your advice and your points of view. This bike is my retirement present to myself. Like I said, I'm a newbie to Harley, I've been wanting one for a long long time. You guys have given me a lot of food for thought; however, think I'm gonna do a little riding before I do any Modding.
Thanks again for the warm welcome to your community.

Reason: edited Saints record :-D
Good idea - ride it first And take some time on this forum, a few others, checkout other bikes cause you will change your mind on what you like. For example, never really liked 2n1's, now I have one, did not like shields, dont leave home without it, lowered the bike, raised it back up for 2up and twisties... enjoy!! lol
Hi and welcome to the forum. We have a rear fender for your fatboy that accomdates a 200 tire. You would need a new 18 x 5.5" wheel, 70 x 20mm belt/pulley, tire, fender and some spacers to make it work. You can use your stock seat and swingarm. I agree with others to ride the bike for awhile before deciding on mods but there are options out there. Here is a picture of the Fatback fender with a 200 tire on a fatty. Let me know if you have any questions, Rob at Hogpro
Congrats on the FatBoy, ride it, enjoy it and don't spend the big $ to go from a 150 to a 200mm, way not worth it, and you will never see those bucks again. If a 200mm rear is a burning desire, sell the Fatty down the road and pick up a 07 or later Fatboy.
I'm not geting the 2006 Fatboy, the trip tomorrow to Ohio is officially off now!
After getting treated like a freggin idiot at every Metro New Orleans Harley Dealer I visited; I decided to drive to Ohio to pick a relatives 06 Fatboy. I told them I was going to Mississippi Coast Harley-Davidson in Biloxi, MS for a last ditch attempt at buying a new bike. I wasn't very optimistic after the treatment form the other dealers i visited.
The staff at Mississippi Coast Harley were friendly and not pushy at all; they asked if i had any questions just ask and let us browse peacefully.
When it came time to talk price, they waived the freight and setup fees and gave me a nice discount on any upgrades for the first 30 days.
I put my money down and am getting a 2010 Fatboy in Black Ice Perl with the V&H Big Radius and Heavy Breather intake, Mini Tacometer, and chromed out handlebar switches and reservoir.
I should have the bike next week, will post pics then...
CONGRATS!!!!!! The 06 was a beautiful bike and you would have loved it, but a brand new is even better. I think you said this was your first Harley and that means you'll make the new one just the way you want it. It's all yours be safe and enjoy.
Okay its still at the dealer waiting on the V&H Big Radius and SE Heavy Breather, Plus i ordered the chromed out handle bars IE switches, housings etc.. plus the fork too. Hopefully all the upgrades will be delivered and installed and I can be riding by next weekend! Pictures taken with my phone, sorry. Will have better pics once the upgrades are completed.
These pics show how the color shifts from different angles and the brightness of the sun.
