I rode route 66 to Laughlin and back last year and it was nice. the road was in pretty good condition most of the way. It was a nice change form the freeway. Beautiful country and a great alternative, of course I have only ridden a short part of the entire route.

Nicest section I've been on was between Kingman, AZ and Flagstaff. Real old time feeling cruising the two lane. CA has quite a bit of the road left but a lot of it has been repaved and widened from San Bernardino to Santa Monica. Still see a few of the old buildings and gas stations.
