That is true, everybody is on the right track
Lowered or not doesn't matter, same amount. It should be listed in the manual. Never thought about the "goldilocks" thing but that is relatively true-just don't go crazy. A little goes a long way when you're talking milliliters.

Hiiicheee Golly! If I hear one more time "Get a manual" I know I aught to, but some times I have to do a repair before the Manual will arrive. Thank you for the 12oz. I have a 2002 Special construction Rigid frame based looosely (beer) on a 99 FXSTC. I am riding down the road and oil is spraying me. Is it the driver in front with the windshield washers going? Nope I pull into the HD stealer and low and behold tis the front forks(bad roads) SPEWING OIL. I get some seals and Oil type E. Yep, what I pour out ain't what I need to pour back in cause I am wearing some of it. So, Thank you for this small but not so insignificant piece of valued information. Did you say EBay had Manuals?
