I'm putting together a tool kit for my 07 Fatboy and I need some suggestions. I don't want to buy a Harley kit as I have plenty of tools around the house. What I need to know is what wrench, torx, and hex key sizes should be in the kit and if there is anything else that I should include?
On the list of tools so far is an adjustable wrench, vice grips, flashlight, tire gauge, screwdriver -w- removal heads, ratchet and socket set, electrical tape, duct tape, and tie wraps.
I carry an adjustable, 2 screw drivers, a few allens that I use a lot. Torq's and small ratchet, zip ties, roll of electrical tape, needle nose pliers, flashlight, and rag.
Should get me by some small on the fly needs. I have a small tool roll mounted under my voltage reg.
Thanks for the replys! I guess what I'm looking for here is the specific sizes of combo wrenches, torx bits and allens (hex keys) that would be recommended to carry so that I can minimize the amount of tools without missing something obvious. I guess I could ask a Harley mechanic the next time I'm down there, but I was thinking that someone on this forum might have already asked this question and figured it out.
I would get a bunch of tools out, look for things you would think you may like to be able to manipulate while on the road, try out a hex size for example, if it fits, throw it in your tool roll.
