Removing fuel pump from Deuce tank?

Here's what I've got. Doing a tank swap. My manual says "reach inside the tank (yeah right) and push the fuel pump housing to disengage it from the end cap." It doesn't say which way to push it, forwards or back. I cannot get my hand in to get a good push on it so I used a new paint stir stick and pushed both ways. This thing will not budge forwards or backwards. What the ^$%@ am I doing wrong?

It takes a pretty good push to unsnap it. If you use a flashlight you may be able to see where it is hinged.

You'll have to use your hands. That housing is plastic and you have to be careful. It slides down two metal posts attatched to the bottom of your tank. I have big hands and it aint easy. Good luck...
