Powder coating black
i powder shields ALL the time! it is all in the prep bud... good prep work and you will be fine, if you are running a thunder header though you have to use a high temp! HAVE TO!
here is the last set of high temp gloss black headers we shot
On Mikes pipes we shot his shield and exhaust tips in all Wet black.... they are in the huge pile of parts below... (actully the only thing i have left to put on his bike is a few things and the pipes and it is done)
*the exhaust tips are under the air cleaner next to the derby cover, and one of the shields is on the lower portion there on the screen
My pipes have over 25K on them since i powdered them and they look like i did it yesterday! like i said, we do shields ALL the time!

Joe (Powder Pro) knows the answer to that question. Another cheap but kick azz option is to do what Lundee did on his bike. Look up his bike, It's black as coal!! Seriously!
