Ive always used saddle soap. You can find it at tractor supply in the horse section. Cleans conditions and protects. cheap too under 4 bucks for a large can.

I use Leather Therapy wash and Leather Therapy finish, I also use them both on my jacket as well as my seat (not slippery). Great stuff, they also have a restorer for older leathers.

Lexol, and the tannery creme, if you aren't carfull Saddle soap will wash the dye out of your leather. (well with a brush and water anyway, never just rubbed it in and buffed it off)

Cant say Ive ever had that problem following the directions. It basicly says to use a damp cloth to suds it up a little and wipe on then buff off. Its a little shiny the first day then looks great.

I've only treated the bags and seat (when it was stock, Mustang seats are not leather) of my bike with the leather dressing that Harley gives you. Seems to be working fine on my bags so far.

++1...good stuff. I use it on my car seats and other leather interior parts as well as my motorcycle seat. Not slick to sit on.
