Keeping the pads from rubbing ???
Is there anything one can do to keep the pads from being in contact with the rotor while going down the road or pushing the bike in the garage ? Seems as if its holding you back...
I know its not the same thing and weight is a major factor but my mountain bike has magnets built in to the calipers which pull the pads off the rotors when not using the brakes letting the wheels spin as free as possible.

Those plastic cups (pistons) in your calipers should slide out when you take off the pads....those need to be cleaned due to carbon build up. The build up creates pressure onto your pads which rub against the rotor......maybe...but definitely worth a try.
