I just bought a 06 black pearl deluxe (50 miles) and the 07 comes out with a bigger engine and 6 speed transmisson. I love my bike but it is a little disappointing that if I had waited two weeks that I could have had the 07. Someone just kick me and tell me how lucky I am to have my 06 and I am just being stupid.
You said it yourself. You love your bike. Discussion over!
BA
THANKS ALL FOR THE COMPLEMENTS--
I just took a ride this morning - an I'm still happy with my 1991- I still would like a 6 speed.... Sounds like the next project and keep my old bike..

You can upgrade your enigne to be the same size as the 07's and it is not as expensive as you might think. You can even upgrade you r engine so it's bigger than the 07's. You can also upgrade to six speeds but that is sort of pricey.
I had a six speed motorcycle before and I ended up skipping either 3rd or 4th gear. I don't know why people get so excited about 6 speeds. Do you find yourself missing something right now about the gearings in the 5 speed??
And if power and speed is what you wanted you will be disappointed whether you got a 06 or 07 deluxe. I am sure the 07's are still going to be on the lower end of motorcycles for acceleration.
I have an 05 FLSTCI and I felt a little disappointed after reading about the 07 models. That feeling went away as soon as I took a little trip around the countryside. I didn't even think once about the new models. Don't worry about it. Enjoy your ride.
I would not be to upset . No doubt there will be issues with the newer engines and gearbox (To some degree however minor hopefully) . Let em build the bugs out first.?

Well said Atomic. I'm happy with my 1450. Guess I'm getting older (and perhaps a little smarter) but I enjoy crusing at 55-65 mph. If I every need engine work I'd probally upgrade. There's also occasions when I'm looking for that 6th gear that isn't there but its no big deal. I'n 30 years, bike may hover, should I wait til then to buy a bike. All this fuss about 07 is goofy. We bought our bikes because that's the one we wanted. After all, isn't it about being in the wind?
I just dropped the duckets for a 97" upgrade, chrome oil tank, air shocks, and an assortment of other goodies for my '06 FSXT... and I'm gonna love it when it's done.
Just think how cool the '07 or '08 will be as your second bike.
