I did some searching (maybe not enough), but I would like to remove the passenger pillion and go for the solo look. I loosened a total of 3 bolts; one behind the passenger pillion on the rear fender and 1 on either side of the main seat. I can't, for the life of me, get the seat off. Do I need to push down and back to unlock it or something? I've tried that, but it will not budge. Once I get it off, then I can take the 2 bolts off that hold the passenger pillion onto the underside of the main seat.
A little guidance from you guys will be appreciated.
CRAP!!! Seat with passenger pillion is going back on then. Don't have a torx wrench that size and don't want to try an Allen instead. Afraid I will strip it.
Just a thought here. I took the whole seat assemb. off my '03 Heritage Classic, the strape also, and had a hell of a time trying to put the strap bolts back later. I have changed the pillon for my wife now and instead of taking the strap off again I just cut the dam thing off with a sharpe blade. I cut close to the bolt and you cannot see it was ever there. Who needs the strape anyway. It is too tight to hang onto anyway.
Just a thought here.
Good idea, Champion. I want to take the pillon and put a fender bib on. Looks good imo. Will check out Home Depot/Lowes for the T-40. Thanks for the help/advice guys. Ride safe...
