Before posting this I banged around the Search Function for awhile and found several posts on the uses and effects of using Scotch Brite pads on chrome and paint, etc. But couldn't find anything specific to Wheels.
My question is, Can it be used to brighten the Wheels on the Rocker C.
I was just out in the Garage and it appears the Wheels are uncoated Aluminum. They don't seem to be bonded with an acrylic clear coat.
So I wouldn't imagine I would be removing of ruining any protective layer.
What do you guys use for cleaning the wear and tear from your Rocker wheels. Is Scotch Brite an option or is there a better polishing compound available?
Thnks for All of Your help!
I only use Mothers polishing compound and one of their Power ***** on all my aluminum/magnesium parts. It polishes up like chrome. Apply a small amount working in one small area at a time. When it starts turning the paste black, you know it's working. Finish off with a soft terry cloth and....voila....a showroom shine.
NEVER use Scotch Brite on chrome but on stainless steel its fine, Like sand paper you can get Scotch Brite pads in different grit. Remember stainless steel has a grain and you want to polish with the grain not across it.
We use Schotch Brite pads in my shop to refinish stainless all the time
