Default Warmest gloves you have found

Hey guys, Hope everybody had a great Christmas and got allot of good stuff for the hogs. I for one got allot of stuff for my fatboy. Well had my new aux lamp/ passing lamp kit sintalled yesterday and with meeting with friends and etc. didn't get to ride her home until 11pm. wind chill was around 18 degrees. So what type of gloves I have which I thought until lastnight were the warmest gloves I have ever owend. So needless to say I could not feel my fingers so I was wondering what kind of gloves you guys have? I know I could invest in a set or electric gloves or something like that? or heated grips? just wanted to know what you guys think.

Thanks for the info and be safe out there.

As an avid hiker (when I am not on my bike) I spend allot of time hiking and camping in high elevations. Many people do not realize how warm silk is. You learn quick how to dress in layers and silk has always been the best base layer (beats UnderArmur) Many out door shops like Cabelas sell silk glove liners. They will normally fit inside your normal winter gloves and will make them fell MUCH (10 - 20 degrees) Warmer. If you do not buy motorcycle specific brand they should run you less the 20 bucks and you can pull them off later in the day when things warm up and slid them into your back pocket and not have your hands baking in the afternoon sun.

Beats having to buy new gloves. (Not to mention it gets you in touch with your feminine side )

Just an idea cuz I do not like the idea of wiring myself to a bike or heated grips...

I had tried a pair of 40 gram thinsulate gloves that always kept my fingers warm when outside shoveling snow but they proved to be useless in 60 mph wind while riding my bike. I bought Harley's branded Gerbing gloves on sale last year and they are awesome. If your hands get to hot when it is 18 degrees out just turn them off and back on again once you begin to feel the chill in your finger tips. They also sell a temp controller but I have been fine with the on/off switch that came with the gloves.

When riding at 60 MPH+ definitely need to consider the wind factor as opposed to what works when standing still .. Living in FL usually is not big a problem but on days like today when it low 30's find that Fox Creek deerhide gloves will suffice but just barely want true warmth go with gerbings heated gloves

Heated gloves are the only ones I have found that work.I also have the heated insoles, keep the extremities warm and you are good to go!

I have a product called "snow paws" which are made for snowmobiles. I used to put them on my 4wheeler in the snow and last year randomly decided to give them a shot on the bike. PERFECT!! They are insulated heavy duty bag looking things that slide over the end of the handle bars from each end, then you put your hands inside them to operate the controls. I can ride in 20 degree weather with just a light pair of mechanics gloves. I bought them over 10 years ago, but I bet they were about $40. They have velcro that you just wrap around the bars to hold them on.

Picture came off ebay. $27 BIN, just look up snow paws.

Hippo Hands are like snow paws too. I don't have them, but if I rode in biting cold like that I might. A Canadian friend of mine used to take electric windshield wipers and make heated grips out of them too.
