Default Question on Muffler Valve

Hello Again me with one of my question...
How can i remove the valve on the Muffler , the on at the begining of the sleep on on my FatBoy Low? Basicaly the one that close when i give gas...I had buy Rush Slip on and soon i`ll get them and put it on , but i would like to remove the Valve, or it is just enough when i cut or unscrew the cable that open and close the Valve? Does it will affect the good way to work of the engine? or it is just for the noise control??? Thank again for you help
And Happy New Year to everybody.

That valve is only on the international models, the US ones don't have it. It's called "active exhaust" (do a google on it!). You also have a valve in your airfilter intake. If you do a stage one, you will also need a bypass for both of them. If you just unplug them from the harness the computer will throw error codes.

On the active exhaust valve, you can just remove the cable if you want, and then jam the valve open (default is closed) with a little metal wedge.

You can also ask the dealer to deactivate both of them (leave valves open) with the software, or you can get the TTS Mastertune and do it yourself.

However if you have to go for an annual technical inspection of the bike (apparently on the books in EU) they will check the working of these valves.

There are some companies who sell products to to trick the computer into thinking it has closed the valve. Here are some links:

Hope this is of help.

Best to check an European or Australian HD Forum on how to deal with this nonsense.

Thanks A lot for your Answe rand help, as the bike is new i`ll wait the 1000 km and when i make the service i`ll ask the dealer to open it with the softwear. It is just that here in Europe ( i wish i was in Australia...i`m in Austria) the dealer it is so expencive for every thing you ask....i`ll take the ball and ask you also it is normal the my side stamp.. i hope you call it like that basicly the one that keep the bike on when you are not sit, doesn`t close alone but i have to push it all the way up? the dealer told me that it is normal...but to me seems a bit strange.
Thanks for you help and Enjoy Malesya i use to live in Taipei..super but hot and humid.
Happy New Year

can't be that expensive to disable those things!

found this on another (australian) HD forum:
https://www.hdforums.com.au/Default....d=69525#100382

"I was just browsing through n I see alot of threads on different ways to disable the active exhaust.

Im a HD tech, its in the vehicle set up section of digi tech, right there in the list every tech looks at when setting up a new bike, its called active exhaust, all u do is click a button saying disable and jobs done, it opens the valve and freezes it there. takes 2 seconds.
"

When they do the 1000 mile service they put the bike on the computer anyway (at least they did here).

As for the side stand, in the beginning mine was hard to move up too, now after a couple of months, once past the halfway point it goes up by itself.

As for the weather ... now in dry season, so only super hot ... but getting used to it now.
