Im 5'7 and went with the 13" flyin apes...I think for my size the 13"s are the best. Just remember they say 13 but really they are 14's..Carlini bars run big.

Default Gangster apes

Does anyone have a picture of them sitting on their road glide with 16" or 18" carlini ganster apes? I'm 5'11 and want to get as tall as possible to my shoulders without going over.

I'm 5'10" and ride a deluxe. I 1st ordered 16" gangsters but when I went to mount them, to tall for me so I exchanged them for the 14" gangsters with the 1" bra riser and they fit like a glove.

In my 40+years of riding I never could understand why people would put them on, they looked so uncomfortable. I wanted this look and to do so I had to go with apes.

Boy, was I wrong! I don't think I would ever go back or use anything but apes again. I had more hand and arm issues with the stock bars then I do with these apes.Good luck and lets us know what you went with and how it looks and works out for you.

Don't go higher than 14" if you want them at shoulder height. Depending on what risers you use with the 14's you are going to be at shoulder height or ever-so-slightly above. I'm 6'1" and I'm running Carlini 1.5" diameter x 14" high Flying Apes and they are at shoulder height for me. I'm also running the lowest mount I could find to work with a 1.5" diameter bar (built for a Roadking).

Shouldn't you be asking this question in the Touring forum?

I am 5'7 on a god day. I had a SG that had Yaffe Money Bars and they were comfortable. I no have 15 Slim. In the future I was thinking about getting possibly getting the Carlini Gangster apes. I was thinking 12 inch with stock risers. I think anything else might be too high? What is the chance someone has a pic of the 12 inch with someone close to my height to get an idea where my arms might be? Thanks

Hmmm... 5 year old dead thread resurrected by somebody with 3 whole posts asking for pics of a bagger in the Softail section...

"I don't think we're in Kansas anymore Toto!"

Maybe he used the search function? You either have someone telling you to use the search or giving you sh*t because its an old post.

Gee, maybe you're right. Maybe he used the search function and I shouldn't have found issue with him asking for pictures of Road Glides in the Softail section. Hell, to make it easy on him, why don't we just do away with all of the fuc*ing sections and just make it one big easy section. That way, it'd be easier on a new person than say... I don't know... maybe posting a new question asking for specific pictures in the correct section? But then, if we did that, then nobody could put on a cape and pretend to be a champion of justice.

BTW, just for grins I typed in "Carlini Gangster Apes Road Glide" (in the touring section I might add) and found all sorts of good to know info and some pictures to boot...

But hey, WTF do I know? Your opinion of how things should be is obviously more important than anybody else's.
