I'm leaning towards a sensor/electrical issue from what was described. Not as much going on with the carbed bikes sensor wise as in the fuel injected versions but there are a few things that can go wrong as well. However you always trouble shoot from the obvious first then go deeper or the easiest to the hardest and then only purchase a part that you have proven to be bad.

Just my 2 cents but don't go anywhere near your carb with carb cleaner. The only time it should be used IMHO is if the carb is totally apart and you are only soaking/cleaning the metal parts. Carb cleaner and rubber (your slide boot, o-ring) is disastrous. Spraying at random is not a good thing. Like I said just my 2 cents... Carb cleaner is the devil in inexperienced hands.

couldn't hurt to remove the gas tank cap next time it stalls.

although it's probably not vapor locking, it's good to eliminate the possiblilty.

They posted FLSTF, not FLSTFI. FLSTF = Carb and FLSTFI = injection.....

You have a 2007 FLSTFI and mine is a 2000 FLSTFN = Nitrous

I had the same type of problem with my 03,it was the main circuit breaker located behind the rear wheel spalsh guard,a pain to get to,but only a few bucks at the local auto parts store.I didn't have to wait overnite for mine to restart, only 15-20 mins.

That was what my problem was.

The question to him is when it does die is it a complete elec failure meaning bike dies and without touching anything absolutly all elec is dead. If so change the circuit breaker..

I just went thru this with my 2000 FLSTF and found out that the diagnostics on 2000-2002 error code display leaves a lot to be desired. On our softails, we really only have 4 sensors: Crank Position, Cam Position, Throttle Position and Bank Angle. TPS and Cam Position will generally not stall the bike, goes into a default mode if there's an error. You need to watch and see exactly what is happening when it dies. Do the lights still work when it won't start? If so, you are getting power and probably not the master circuit breaker. If the bike is cranking over but no spark/start, more than likely the Crank Position sensor.
Mine would die while running down the road, could turn the ignition off then back on and the bike would refire. Not sure exactly how the Bank Angle sensor works (as it has 5 volts from the ECM and 12 Volts from the battery going to it) but mine was failing.
Take your time, check all your ground wires, make sure no wires are pinched and good luck!

All that typing and I forgot to ask if you are getting an error code? Does your engine light come on when starting then go off and come back on for 8 seconds? If so, you have a code stored and need to hook up a jumper wire on your diagnostic port on terminals 1 and 2 and read the codes. They will flash and you can find the results in your service manual.
