Just got my wheels on a couple weeks ago and haven't had much time to ride due to holidays, cold, etc. Anyway, I noticed that there is a slight offset on the rear wheel, maybe 1/2" to the left. No clearance issues, the belt/pulley alignment is right and the bike rides smoothly.
Is the offset normal? Don't remember from the other wheels.
Oh yeah, it's an 06 Fatboy
Warg, when you installed your wheels and pulley did you use a spacer for the pulley? My 06 Deluxe required a 9/16 inch spacer when using an aftermarket pulley with the STOCK profile wheels...I measured it. I am told I will need a 1/2 inch spacer with the DNA Mamoths and new pulley. I will measure to make sure. I am also going from a stock 140 to a 150 tire. Anyway, if you didn't use a spacer under your pulley that would cause serious misalignment most likely on your belt.
I too was curious after a recent tube change in the rear tire as to the offset of my wheel. I took it to my home base (Paradise Harley), and they were curious as well. After some research, and making sure all was good with alignment, etc., it was concluded this is normal but not too common. There is no effect on riding, just sits in my mind as being unique.
