I was wanting to get a couple of opinions on whether anyone thinks a Barebones from the older(carb'ed) softails will fit on a newer(FI'ed) bike. The ECM is relocated to behind the splash guard, so there is nothing connected to the fender. If you check out the two seats the newer one has at least six inches of padding, the one on Chaz's and Story's bike has about 1.5"s of padding. Should move the rider back further.
I am guessing as long as the frame is the same width, the seat should fit, may need some coaxing though.

Any opinions?
The 1999-2005 will fit Bro. The 2006 is when they got all wierded out looking.
I've got a Corbin Hollywood Solo off my 02 fatboy if you're interested in that. Was gonna put it up on the classifieds here in a bit, just haven't gotten around to it yet.
Bro you got yourself a baddass bobber...why would you want to stick a lepera on that...nice bike man....maybe think about a cush diomond stiched biltwell seat? ...love your cycle...you own my next prodject.
They'll still work, though. I've got one on mine, and it's frame mounted. Just need to figure out what to do with the dual fender mounts is all.
You sure ES? That seat on your bike looks like the old styled one without all the bonus padding, Mine is frame mounted as well....Also isnt the 2006+ seat like way wider to accomodate the larger 06+ fenner?
The reason I am wondering is because I ditched the Shade Tree Fab stuff. I didn't like the mounts at all. I am having to explore different options now. If this seat won't work on my stock setup the only other option is Heartland.
Also exactly what does it mean by "frame mounted"? Does it not slip into the front lip and bolt down to the fender?
I also guess I should have mentioned my bike is a 2009.

My bike takes the fender mounted seat, but I've got the frame mounted seat on it. Not sure of the difference on the padding, but mine is new enough to have the biker gel. LGX-007 is what I think my seat is. Not sure of the width difference between years, either. Sorry.
