Hey Guys,
Been awhile since I've been on here. I bought a bagger (09 RKC) after my first H-D (07 FXDC) becuase I thought I'd be happier on a touring bikes. Well, I was DEAD WRONG! I regret every day ever selling my 07 Super Glide Custom as it was a light, quick, nimble bike & ALOT of fun to ride. Well, I sold my 09 RKC last August & looking to get back on another fun bike. I REALLY like the "look" of the Softail Custom. How do you guys like yours? Any dislikes? I'm 5'11 & 220 lbs...think I'll fit this bike ok? Pics?

My suggestion would be to go and rent a softail. Doesn't have to be the exact one you want, but see how you like the counter balanced engine and softail frame before jumping in.
I recently moved from an Ultra Classic to a Softail Custom. I love the Custom for the same reasons you mentioned...it's light, quick, nimble and more fun to ride. The Custom also has a very comfortable seat and holds a styling advantage over the Ultra. The only thing I miss about my Ultra is the tour pak. I use my BMW sport tourer for trips, so I don't miss having a touring bike.
I love my FXSTC, and at first was looking for a Super Glide Custom. I know I made the right choice for me, but you may want to ride one before jumping in. Definately a different ride from the dynas, and even the other softails I've been on.
Like my Custom very much but at times I wish that I had gotten the Heritage for the more touring capability ,basically the same bike except for front end and rear fender.Just my .02 worth.
I have an 08 FXSTC. I love it and will not get rid of her. The only changes I've made are; adding a stage 1 upgrade, switched out to a Sundowner Deep Bucket seat & backrest & pad (for the wife's comfort), and added a quick-release windshield & luggage rack. My FXSTC rides very well, is not hard to handle, and has the classic looks of what I remember as Harleys from my youth. Check some different HDs out, ride them and make your own decision on the HD model you really want before you buy. And as always, Ride Safe...
