I'm definately going to go with Carlini Apes and most likely go with 16's but I can't decide whether or not to go with Flyin Apes or Gangster Apes. I also can't decide to stay with 1.25 bars and stock risers or go with 1.5" bars and have to pay extra for risers (leaning towards 1.25"). I'm 6'2" tall and ride a 2003 Fatboy. Which bar do you guys think would look the best?
FWIW
I think the gangstas look awesome on the right bike. Not sure I'd like them on the fatboy. Think they look better with an FX (skinny) front end. Reason I went with the Fly'n on my heritage.
I don't like the 1.5". My opinion is they are too fat and look odd. MHO only.
If you get the 1.25" dia (what I got) you should get them withOUT a step down for the risers, which in that case you'd still need new risers. Looks better. I assume the stock bar on the FB is 1"? I don't know for sure.
There is someone in here with a killer red Softail Std or Night train can't remember, he has 18" Gangsters, lets see if he jumps in so you can have another perspective.
It's all about what you like, what do YOU want to be seen riding. There both great looking bars I love them both but I went with Gangsters i'm 5'10 and got the 14" at you hight 16" should be nice.I think they run alittle taller than others can't go wrong either way.Spring for the risers and get the 1.50 on the fatboy. good luck.
Considered the Flyin, imo they look great on FB's. Really like how they put the wrists in a straighter position than other apes. Would buy them if they cost less. Even the discounted ones at $250 are not an option. The 1.5" would rock but from what I remember they wider. I think all the 1.5" bars I found are like 40+" wide. Guess its to compensate for the greater bends due to the the larger dia pipe?
Mimo your bike is absolutely sick. Good job brother. Are those the fat daddies or the mammoths you got? Your bike is exactly the way I'd want my ride to look. Stellar. My only thought is white walls may just totally put your ride over the top if you don't mind my $.02.
What risers did you go with Hockey Stick? I have the freight train nacelle so I'm not sure you could notice a step with the risers? I do believe the stock risers are 1".

Thanks brother. Not at all, I had white walls before on stock wheels and got tired of cleaning those, besides they don't make a wide front 21" with W/W... My wheels aren't DNA or mammoth, they're RWW's. BTW, I'm 6'3" and could not be happier with my bars height.
