Default frame dimensions?

I have been told that a certain high output horn will fit my softail convertible and I have been told that the same output horn will not fit it. I can come up with no reason other than the outside dimension of the frame. I do know the same output horn fit my 05 Heritage frame, which I don't have any more. It mounts in front on the A-frame just underneath the top of the engine guard. Can someone 'mic' the frame on an '05 Heritage and tell me what it comes out to? Is it 1-1/4" ? thanks.

for clarification, I'm just asking someone to mic one of the main frame bars just below where the engine guards bolts on at the front of the bike. thanks.

Get a Clymer manual for your bike. MASSIVE amounts of into from head to toe on your bike. Yea, including dimentions.

Though I like the idea of a new resource for bikes, $25 to purchase a book to answer a question about a bike I don't own any longer to make a comparison for a bike I presently own seems a bit steep to me. I have all 3 factory manuals for the 05 heritage and no where in them does it address this specific question of mine. Another possibility is to just look around the area and mic the frame of one myself. Thanks.
