Default removal of centre spar!!!
Just looking on the Exile website and see they do some kits to clean up Softails, one relocates the horn the other the stock coils,both end up behind the splash guard,already done the horn thing myself and I don't think the coils option can be too tricky,once thats done they say you can remove the central "dummy" spar that fit to the top of the motor (and provides a mount for the coils)...opens up that whole area...no I don't doubt that Mr.Mitchell and his crew know a thing or three, but has anyone tried this and is it safe? any effects on frame rigidity etc

I've been thinking about the same thing. I think tx_outlaw did it, may he can help??

Does it have any effect on the frame, or anything else for that matter?

Negative. It's job was to hold the coil. It's a measly thin piece of stamped metal.
