Last weekend I scored my first ever stone chip. The good bit (!!??!!) is that the 3/8 inch scar is all in the silver part of the "flames" on the top front of the front right hand side of the tank.
Can anyone please tell me if the silver bit is a transfer or if it was originally painted. What would be the best suggestion to my HOG panel-beater repair business mate who seriously wants to make it perfect again for me.
Its painted..The right way to fix would be to take the tank off wet sand it with 1000 grit paper, tape the flame off then wet sand the scratch with 400 grit be careful not to burn through then get the silver paint and blend it in with an airbrush after you blend it reshoot the whole tank with 3 coats of clear
If the scratch is too deep you might have to prime that spot to build it up then shoot the silver. It sounds hard but it can be done!! I hope this helps
